Neighborhood Social

Your screen reaches phones, not just the room.

Every SLX On Air screen comes with a hyperlocal social network. People scan the code on your screen to follow your board, and your next post reaches their phones as well as the screen.

New post on a board you follow

How it works

Four steps, and you keep your audience.

Why it matters

A screen usually forgets people the moment they leave.

Most screens only reach whoever happens to be in the room. Neighborhood Social keeps the connection after they walk out: the café regular hears about tomorrow’s special, the club member hears about Saturday, the patient hears about next month’s health camp.

It’s your own audience. Your posts go to your board and the people who follow it, with no algorithm deciding who sees them.

Public or private

You choose who can follow.

Public boards: anyone nearby can follow

Good for customers and visitors. Every post on a public board appears in that neighbourhood’s feed in the app, so everyone nearby sees it, even people who never walk past your screen. Anyone can follow by scanning the code on your screen.

Public boardCustomers and visitorsScan to follow. Posts reach their phones.

Private boards: members only

A private board has no location and never appears in search or nearby discovery. People ask to join, and you approve them, with up to five joining questions. Good for club members, residents and staff.

Private boardJoin requests you approveAsk up to five questions: flat number, membership ID, department. Approve or decline each request.

Who uses it

The same idea, in every kind of space.

Cafés and shopsRegulars follow for specials and new arrivals, and come back for them.

Questions about Neighborhood Social

Do followers need to download anything?

Yes, the free SLX On Air app on Android or iOS. Scanning the code on your screen takes them straight to your board.

Will followers get every post?

Your posts appear on your board in their app. They get a notification too if they have switched notifications on for your board.

Can I stop strangers following my board?

Yes. Make it a private board: it has no location, never appears in search or nearby discovery, and people join only with your approval.

Can followers post on my screen?

Only if you allow it. You decide whether only admins post, or members too, and you can remove any post or member at any time.

Is there an algorithm deciding who sees my posts?

No. Your posts go to your board and the people who follow it.
