SimplylocalX prioritizes user privacy in designing its hyperlocal community platform and digital signage solution. The company collects minimal necessary personal information and grants users maximum control over data visibility. This Privacy Policy covers apps, websites, digital signage products, features, software, and services collectively termed “Services.”

2. Using SimplylocalX

Users can access certain Services (viewing signage, browsing public posts) without accounts. Interactive features (posting, joining groups, managing signage) require registration.

3. Information We Collect

Account Creation

• Email address (mandatory, private)
• Name (optional, private)
• Profile picture (optional, displayable in reduced size, hideable)
• Digital signage customer data (business name, contact details, location, content)
• Callsign/username (publicly visible)

Digital Signage Specific Data

The company does not store displayed screen content except user-uploaded material. System usage logs (device status, software version, uptime) are retained for support and diagnostics. Basic analytics track update frequency.

Location Information

The platform does not track location. Only neighbourhood networks users select are stored. Digital signage customers voluntarily provide locations for placement management.

Usage, Log & Device Data

Collected information includes diagnostic data, device specifications, IP addresses, network information, and connection logs for platform reliability and security improvement.

Instagram Integration

SimplylocalX integrates with Meta's Instagram API to allow users to sync and display their Instagram content on digital signage screens. Through this integration, we may collect the following data:

• Instagram User ID — to identify your linked Instagram account
• Username — to display attribution alongside your content
• Access Token — to authenticate and retrieve your media on your behalf
• Media Data — images, videos, captions, and timestamps from your Instagram feed

This data is used solely to display your Instagram content on your connected screens. We do not sell, share, or use this data for advertising purposes. Syncing is initiated by the user and can be revoked at any time (see Section 5).

4. Data Retention

• Account information is retained while the account remains active.
• Instagram tokens are valid for 60 days with automatic refresh.
• Synced media is retained while the Instagram account remains linked.
• System logs are retained for 90 days.
• Deletion records are retained for legal compliance.

Data is anonymized or deleted within 30 days of account deletion.

5. Data Deletion and Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of your personal data
• Rectification — correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Deletion — request removal of your personal data
• Data Portability — receive your data in a portable format
• Withdrawal of Consent — revoke previously given consent at any time

Instagram Data Deletion

You can delete your Instagram data through any of the following methods:

• In-app unlinking of your Instagram account
• Revoking access via Instagram settings
• Submitting a deletion request through Meta
• Emailing info@simplylocalx.com

• Consent — you have given clear consent for us to process your personal data for a specific purpose.
• Performance of a Service — processing is necessary to deliver the services you have requested.

Users can modify their profiles, hide profile pictures, delete posts, and exit groups at any time. Digital signage customers control their content through dedicated management portals.

Personal information is encrypted where feasible. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

11. Cookies

This service does not use or store cookies.

12. Children

Our Services are intended for users aged 13 and above. Minors under the age of 13 must obtain guardian consent before using our Services. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 without parental consent.
